It is clear from your phase vs distance plots that all the field components of a dipole source have a clear minimum in the nearfield and then becomes only approximately linear in the farfield, starting about 1 wavelength from the source. It is well known the both the phase speed and group speed of the field components are instantaneous when there is a minimum in the curve and becomes only exactly speed C for an exactly linear curve, which is clearly not the case. It is also well known that the group speed is the same as the front speed, which is known to be the speed of information and the speed of causal action, provided the phase is approximately constant over the bandwidth of a signal, which is the condition for no distortion of a signal. In the near field this is easily satisfied by using narrow band signals such as: AM, FM, and narrow band digital signals such as NFC, which we use in our cell phones to transmit digital information in the near field from a transmitter to a receiver. So it is clear that the speed of light is instantaneous in the near field of the source, reduces and changes speed with distance from the source, and then converges asymptotically towards speed C in the far field starting about one wavelength from the source, and never reducesi to exactly constant speed C, ever. This clearly violates relativity which says that information and causal action cannot propagate faster than speed C, and it also violates the second postulate of relativity which assumes that the speed of light is always constant speed C.
Experiments now confirm this. An EM pulse experiment just published in the EM Journal IRECAP, 2024 shows an EM pulse propagating instantaneously across 1.5 m, by tracking the front speed which is known to be the speed of information, and also the speed of causal action.
Instantaneous signals violate the relativity of simultaneity which is the heart of relativity. This is because instantaneous signals will appear to be the same for all inertial frames of reference. This can be seen by inserting C equal infinity into the Lorentz transformation yielding the Galilean transformation where time and space are absolute. What we see in the near field is real and follows according to the law of Galilean relativity. But what we see in the far field is not real in the subject to relativistic illusions such as time dilation and length contraction. The following thought experiment will clarify this. Assume you have a long enclosed box with a button on the front and a light at the other end of the box. If when the button is pressed the light turns on faster than speed C, relativity is disproved. It is not matter what is in the box, how it works, why it works, or how physicists think it works. All that matters is that it works. Clearly inserting the EM Pulse experiment in the box satisfies the condition that it works, hence disproving relativity and any theory based on including general activity, and even QED. This experiment challenges all of modern physics! for more information, see, New interpretation of relativity by William Walker, and specifically see all the papers supporting this research in the description of the video.
There is a url in the middle of the paper, where we added additional information about the experiment. There you will see we used two synchronized oscilloscopes with separate grounds, to make sure the signal was not being coupled through the grounds. No difference in the observed experimental results were observed.
There are free preprints of the paper found on the internet. One is found in HAL Science. Just search for the name: Non-local or possibly superluminal Maxwell displacement current observed in the near field of a spherical capacitor, 2024.
Awesome post! Thanks,Hans.
Very interesting poast thanks!
That was really nice, and well done.

Did you ever correct your experimental apparatus setup to exclude transient energy in the oscilloscope?

Sadly, that is hidden behind a paywall.
